Spending time with those around you

June 28, 2012 Leave a comment

Today I realized that we should not let technology or other worldly things take our concentration off from the people around us.  We should love, care and be there for them when they need us.  We wont know that they need us if we don’t spend time with them, and every moment counts, you may think you have spent enough time with someone and you can watch some TV for a bit or work late, but when the time comes where you have to say goodbye to them… one would always wish that they could come back.  So basically what I’m saying is, try to minimize your time with worldly things and spend time with your family and close friends so that you do not have to regret loosing them when their time ends.  We never know when time ends for someone, because we try to tell ourselves that it won’t happen anytime soon and then ultimately we do not spend a lot of time with them, but today you can see them and tomorrow you can’t…

Please try to focus on this 🙂

John 15:12 (NLT) :

12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

Giving is just as good as receiving, so start giving love and the love will pour out on you 🙂

Always trust in our wonderful Lord, Jesus Christ, and you will not be forsaken.

Importance of selflessness

June 21, 2012 Leave a comment

Hi all,

I got a very interesting message from one of my friends on BBM this morning and it got me thinking…  We unknowingly pursue our own dreams and sort of forget about others, sometimes even put God aside, the Bible gets left alone and we rather spend time working or socializing.   I know a full 24hr day doesn’t always feel like 24hrs but we need to try to devote some of that time to God, our Creator, so that we may not fall into a dark pit of loneliness, depression, anger and many more negative feelings/things.

Mark 8:36 (NLT)

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

I encourage you to read from verse 31 up to 37 to get a better understanding of the above message but the verse I gave you is the one that stands out… Here is a link to verse 31-37, it’s also a great Bible website I use for my blogging purposes which you can perhaps use : Bible Gateway.

This is a very short message, but I think it talks to all of us?

Be blessed and have a great day!

Psalm 91

June 21, 2012 Leave a comment

This chapter represents God’s protection over us.  We should not fear any evil.

1Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.

If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”

This is truly a reassuring chapter!!

Do not be afraid

God gave us armor to put on and this armor will protect us from everything.  The only thing about this armor is there is no protection at the back.  And the reason for that is because God does not want us to run away from our enemies/problems, we should go in faith and take it on.

Ephesians 6:11-18 (NLT) tells us this:

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

So when you have a problem that your facing, just put on God’s armor and carry on, God will not let you get into something if He does not think you can succeed.

Be kind and be a blessing.

Have a blessed evening!

Hot Air Balloon

June 12, 2012 2 comments

English: A hot air balloon in flight at the Mi...

Don’t you sometimes feel like you’re in a hot air balloon that’s not lifting up?  You need to blow fire into the balloon to create the hot air, that then makes the balloon rise…  It’s the same with our walk with God.  You need to allow the Holy spirit in your life for your spirit to lift (light up).  And always trust in God to keep you safe, because when you’re in the air and you decide to jump out… it’s a long way down and it’s hard to get back in…  (you can but it’s harder)…

Just a little something I got from God tonight at our prayer group and I wanted to share it with you all.  I trust this will help someone 🙂

Be Blessed and remember not to look down 🙂

Your will and God’s will

June 5, 2012 4 comments

Pastor Nicky also mentioned something that stuck with me and that I found being true.  And he said that we should mix our will in life with God’s will for our life and not just say it’s God’s will so lets wait and see what happens…

I did this because I thought it was good to say I want God’s will for my life so I’ll pray and just wait for God to send His blessings etc…  But we’re not suppose to just sit down and wait.  God has a plan for ALL of us, that is most definitely true.  But we must have the WILL to action these plans that God has planned for us… is that not true?  It’s like when they say : “You can take the donkey to the water, but you can’t force him to drink the water” God has given us the abilities to action these plans, but now we just sit and wait for Him to do it for us, as if God hasn’t done enough for us? He only gave up His only Son??????I mean that’s not something big…. (being VERY sarcastic now) ( VEEERRRRYYY).  So start taking action and implementing those plans in your life.  And do not take this the wrong way,  one would think,” I’d rather let God send me the blessings because I do not want to follow my OWN will….”  But yeah, if you read this message, you will see that it makes more sense to mix your will with God’s will.

I hope this was as inspiring for you as it was for me 🙂

Be Blessed!

Lamentations 3 19:24 – So refreshing

June 5, 2012 Leave a comment

The thought of my suffering and homelessness
is bitter beyond words.
 I will never forget this awful time,
as I grieve over my loss.
 Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:

 The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”

even when you go through suffering for your sins God will always be there for you and you can always put your hope in Him. amen to that!

Infirmities in your life

June 5, 2012 Leave a comment

We had a visitor at our Church a few weekends ago.  His name is Pastor Nicky.  He gave a wonderful message regarding trials in our lives.  And I want to share my views regarding the message he gave.

Jesus died on the cross for us, to set us free, and I think He really meant it.  So when you stumble and you have infirmities in your life, try not to moan about it or be negative.  Go through the trial with God. He does even say that He will not put you through something you cannot handle: 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

I like the NKJV:

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Moaning or being negative about our infirmities will isolate us from God, because we stop having faith in His word like above verses. That then causes us to stop focusing on what is important and focus more on the negative which is coming from satan…

It’s called being human, and we may fall victim to these kinds of things easily and never realize it, and I believe that is why God wanted me and MANY other people to start blogs, safe houses, Churches, prayer groups etc to be mediums for God.  And so that God can communicate with all of us regarding these things distracting us from being in His presence ALL the time.

Remember Christianity is not a chore, it’s a privilege so enjoy it and be grateful.

Blessings!!
