Psalm 25

April 23, 2012 2 comments

Hi all,  In traffic today someone had a number plate saying Psalm 25, so while sitting in traffic i quickly accessed my blackberry bible app and read through it.  It was very touching and I wanted to share it with you all.

Psalm 25: 1 – 7….and onwards (NLT)

O Lord, I give my life to you.

I trust in you, my God!

Do not let me be disgraced,

or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.

No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced,

but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.

Show me the right path, O Lord;

point out the road for me to follow.

Lead me by your truth and teach me,

for you are the God who saves me.

All day long I put my hope in you.

Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,

which you have shown from long ages past.

Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.

Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,

for you are merciful, O Lord.

All of this is so true, and it just reminds me that we need to open our hearts to God so that He may lead us.

Have a great evening!

Be Blessed!

Awesome story

April 18, 2012 1 comment

Our Pastor told us a short story this past Sunday which meant allot to me and I would like to share it with you all.

There was a guy who went on a cruise, he only had enough money to buy the ticket and every meal time he would eat biscuits and drink water, due to not having money to buy any food.  So the one evening the cruise ship captain walked into him and asked him why he was eating biscuits when he could be eating a buffet dinner in the restaurant?  The man replied saying that he did not have any money to spend. The captain looked at the guy and said, Sir, your ticket paid for everything, including all meals and drinks…. the man was overjoyed and went into the restaurant to have a feast.

The moral of this story is that our ticket (Jesus) paid for EVERYTHING when He sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins…  the price was paid in full, so do not let satan tell you lies and get you down on the floor, you ARE forgiven for what you have done, and you are free from the chains of satan!

Be blessed, and spread the good news!

In the sand bunker?

April 18, 2012 1 comment

While worshiping last night I got this image of a golfer struggling to get past an obstacle on the golf course.  And I think God just wanted to tell us that, Golf is allot like Christianity,  you get your good days and your bad days, you sometimes get a birdie and sometimes a bogey, or like me a double bogey….

But as Christians we have Jesus as our Pro Golf Trainer, and He will teach us how to get through all these obstacles we may encounter,  and when you end up hitting your ball straight into the sand bunker, Jesus will be there showing you how to hit it straight onto the green and into the hole.  So when you are struggling and feeling like you’re in the bunker, trust in God to get you out of it.  He is always with YOU, and the bible says, stronger is He who is within you than those that are of this world.

Prayer and faith takes practice just like your swing.  You need to keep your shoulders straight, knees slightly bent, head down etc, otherwise you either miss the ball or it curves out to the sides….  and with prayer and faith you need to practice to always stay positive about what you’ve prayed for, and you must show your faith by believing you will receive it!

Just like it says in Mark 11:24 (KJV):

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

That’s my most favorite scripture in the Bible.  Jesus already died on the cross for our sins and He is still willing to give us ANYTHING we want, even though we do not deserve it….

Have a blessed day!

Jesus loves you!

Staying a supporter

April 16, 2012 2 comments

I don’t know if you guys are loyal towards you rugby teams or any other sport for that matter, but when your team loses a few games, do you change teams? No you don’t. Well I hope you don’t…  I support the Golden lions in the Currie cup and super 15. And they always seem to lose… Well they won the Currie cup last year which was the first time in 12 years… But I stayed with them through all the tough times…

We should stay supporters of God our Savior.  We won’t always have a great season. But at the end it’s worth sticking to the team you love. Because the rewards from winning are so awesome that you never forget about them.  Teams that always win tend to take the wins for granted and get big-headed, and forget what the game is about, and that’s exactly how it is with our Christianity.  When you just get all the blessing you WANT, you stop being faithful and grateful.

Stick close to The One who Loves you dearly, Jesus…

Be blessed.

And share this over a  game with your friends 🙂

If you’re being mocked, be HAPPY

April 12, 2012 4 comments

We often try to fit in with the different types of groups  you get in society, and it ends up changing who we really are.

If they feel that drinking is a “cool” thing, we do it…and so on.

But normally you wouldn’t drink.

That’s just an example, you can use your own scenario that you experience in your everyday life.

Be what you ARE (a child of God) and do not hesitate telling people about our God, Jesus Christ.  And what He does for you.  Be happy when people mock you about your religion, because it’s not your pride that’s being measured, it’s your faith and humbleness that Jesus wants to see in you.

Matthew 5:11-12 (NLT)

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

So you see, Jesus wants us to carry His decrees with us, no matter what, and we will be rewarded for going through this humiliation, if you can call it that, due to it turning into a blessing at the end…

Be PROUD of who you are and of The One who lives within YOU!!! JESUS!

Lord, I ask that you may give us all the strength and courage to carry our cross with us everywhere we go, and that we can stand up straight and proud of WHO we are and in WHO we trust.  Amen.

Go well family!

Be Blessed!
