Fasting is a awesome way of showing God respect and to assist in a request for something you may need, but I think there’s allot of people that often fast just to get something they WANT, lose weight… yes you read correctly, and for many other reasons that is not pure of heart towards God.

Isaiah 58:3-14(NLT) says the following:

‘We have fasted before you!’ they say.

‘Why aren’t you impressed?

We have been very hard on ourselves,

and you don’t even notice it!’

“I will tell you why!” I respond.

“It’s because you are fasting to please yourselves.

Even while you fast,

you keep oppressing your workers.

What good is fasting

when you keep on fighting and quarreling?

This kind of fasting

will never get you anywhere with me.

You humble yourselves

by going through the motions of penance,

bowing your heads

like reeds bending in the wind.

You dress in burlap

and cover yourselves with ashes.

Is this what you call fasting?

Do you really think this will please the Lord?

“No, this is the kind of fasting I want:

Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;

lighten the burden of those who work for you.

Let the oppressed go free,

and remove the chains that bind people.

Share your food with the hungry,

and give shelter to the homeless.

Give clothes to those who need them,

and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

“Then your salvation will come like the dawn,

and your wounds will quickly heal.

Your godliness will lead you forward,

and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.

Then when you call, the Lord will answer.

‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.

“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.

Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!

Feed the hungry,

and help those in trouble.

Then your light will shine out from the darkness,

and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.

The Lord will guide you continually,

giving you water when you are dry

and restoring your strength.

You will be like a well-watered garden,

like an ever-flowing spring.

Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.

Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls

and a restorer of homes.

“Keep the Sabbath day holy.

Don’t pursue your own interests on that day,

but enjoy the Sabbath

and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day.

Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day,

and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly.

Then the Lord will be your delight.

I will give you great honor and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob.

I, the Lord, have spoken!”

So this proves that fasting isn’t just about waking up and deciding you will fast today and just go through with it.  It’s about praying through out the day when you get a chance, Being kind and generous towards others, faith and patience.

I really believe that fasting is a powerful weapon we as Christians can use, the reason why I say this is, have you ever realized that on a normal day you can work and only notice at about 14h00 that your hungry, and you will even be able to wait until supper when you get home?  Well that’s because we can survive without food for longer than a few hours…. 🙂  But the days you decide to fast it wont be 2 hours that go by and you will start getting a headache or feeling very weak etc…  I believe it’s satan who knows how powerful fasting is, and he then tries getting you to give up…

So start your fast with a prayer of divine protection and take the bull(statan) by the horns!!

Hope this was helpful.

Have a great evening in Jesus name!!

Giving your tithes

October 25, 2011 Leave a comment

The money we receive every month comes from the world doesn’t it?  SO that money could have been used for corruption, fraud, drugs etc…. So I’m correct in saying its cursed? The bible says that we will be cursed if we do not pay our tithes, so obviously these curses will cause us not to be blessed.  By giving to God what is truly His, we wash the curse off of the money and God opens the windows of heaven upon us.

Malachi 3:8-12 (ESV)

Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.  Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.  I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts.  Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts.

I pray that you would understand this, and have the peace and grace in your heart to start giving your tithes.

Be Blessed in Jesus name!

Violent faith

October 25, 2011 Leave a comment

Hi all,

At Church this past Sunday we had a great sermon, and I would like to share it with you.

What I mean by violent faith is that, we should take charge of our life’s and be aggressive in what we do “spiritually” Don’t go and hit someone in order to get them to accept Jesus 🙂 that wont be right…  But be courageous, tenacious and LOUD!!

Daniel was courageous when he sat with faith in the lion den… David had great courage to take on Goliath….

And they were very close to God, I think we will be able to get passed that barrier some of us experience if we take it up a notch and stop standing back for the big things.  God is with us no matter what we take on, so we just need to have faith and we will see what we can accomplish.  Being tenacious, don’t take no for an answer, we as Christians sometimes need to be stubborn in a good way to get things done the way they should be. And then LOUD, stop being shy, start showing what religion you are by what you say and do.  You know the people that play their car music so loud that your mirrors start vibrating? Well we need to start playing our gospel music like that 🙂  Then we will see some change…

Have a great day in Jesus name.

The Shares Jesus bought

October 19, 2011 Leave a comment

While I was busy studying, God made me realize that he actually bought shares(in business terms) when he died for us on the cross.  Lets take an example, if you buy shares from a company, you would expect them to start making profits and use your money wisely.

Its the same for Jesus, when he died on the cross for us, he paid the ultimate amount of money (suffering) to buy us (spiritual shares), and many of us don’t show good returns on investment… We need to start making profits for Jesus ( profits = winning souls) in order to show our respect and gratefulness towards his investment he made in us.  Jesus wont sell His shares (us), but how would you be able to face Him if you did not do something to prove your love for Him?

Start thinking on a business strategy, and action it.

I pray that you all may receive strength and wisdom in order to go through with your plans!

We are Spiritual beings not human beings

October 18, 2011 1 comment

Hi Family,

Tonight at our sel gathering we had a talk about our spiritual being. And God told me to share it on His blog, due to many people not seeing it that way.

We tend to think that we were put on earth to fulfill the generic life of the average person which is, getting born, growing up, getting a good education, getting married, having children and then one day to die. Well God does want us to have all those things, but the reason we are put here on earth is to win souls for Jesus. We as Spiritual beings have this “vehicle” we call human bodies that just acts as our transportation on earth. We need to realize that we are spiritual beings that are capable of doing anything, through faith in Jesus, and that we are here for one main purpose and that’s fulfilling God’s Will for our life’s. I think that the core of God’s Will is to win people over to His side. It may not seem like it, but if you were to investigate every path God has taken you through you would realize that you’ve been winning souls for God our Father in Heaven! Isn’t that a great privilege? Doing work for The most High Sovereign Jesus Christ. It’s the least we could do… comparing what He did for us.

1 Corinthians 2:13-14
“When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means”

And in fact we can understand the voice of the Holy spirit, which in fact means we are… Spiritual 🙂

We just tend to forget this, that’s why we cannot hear or understand the voice of God. If you haven’t spoken to someone for a very long time, you will forget the sound of their voice. And so it is with the Spirit inside of you, if you don’t spend time with God, you won’t hear his voice anymore, and your spirit fades away behind the human body….which will end up as dust when you die…..

Have a great and blessed week! May God’s presence lead you everywhere you need to go!
