Integrity towards God

July 31, 2012 Leave a comment

God placed the book of Job on my heart so I started reading it to see what God wanted me to convey, so here goes.

When I was a young boy, I felt very lonely, even though I had my mom and my great family always there for me. I just felt that I wont have anything when I grow up.  I was very shy and did not have many friends. I always knew God, but did not realize what He meant in my life, I wanted to know Him but I was probably to young to understand everything there is to know about Him in-depth.  I always seemed to get through every trial that came my way. (now I know it was God standing next to me).

Through every bad or sad trial in my life, I always kept on praying at night(not really knowing what to pray but with the faith of a child).

I was basically in the same situation Job was in, when he lost everything.(I didn’t have all the riches he had in the beginning though 🙂 ).

But I never blamed God for any of it.  I just thought that, well to be honest, I never thought why it was happening to me…I just accepted it.

And eventually after a few years I decided to lift my hand up, after a sermon in church when they did the altar call, in order to change my life and truly become a new-born christian.  After that my hunger to learn more about Christianity grew more and more, and things started to change in my life.  I do not know if it was a test or not, but I do know that everything that I thought was going to happen to me did not happen and the opposite did! I’ve been dating my fiance for almost 6 years, we have been engaged for 11 months, I have a great job and a wonderful blessed life.

And it’s all thanks to God.

Job 1:6-12 (NLT)

Job’s First Test

One day the members of the heavenly court[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan,[b] came with them. “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan.

Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”

Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. 10 You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! 11 But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

12 “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.

What I get from this scripture is that, we need to hit rock bottom in order to sometimes remember where we got all our blessing from.  There’s a lot of people who sometimes forget who their Father is, and start to live a worldly life which is something that you can get trapped in very easily.  And I think it’s a good test to see where your heart lies.  If God can give us something, He can take it away,  remember that we do not really deserve anything in the first place as we are all sinners saved by His Grace and Jesus sacrificed enough already by dying on the cross for our sins, that there already seems like a ridiculous blessing that we received because there are very few people on this earth that would die to save other people they do not know…

Be Blessed family!  Remember to show others grace, because you were shown grace when Jesus died on the cross for you.

Do you think you’re safe from judgement?

July 25, 2012 Leave a comment

Good evening all.  I was reading the Bible last night and just thought I would share my readings with you.

The question you should ask yourself is, will you go to heaven because you grew up in a christian home or because you serve God with all your heart and follow His decrees? Read the below verses. Follow the link if you wish to read the whole chapter (recommended)

Ezekiel 18:5 – 13 (NLT) Link to Bible Gateway

“Suppose a certain man is righteous and does what is just and right. He does not feast in the mountains before Israel’s idols[a] or worship them. He does not commit adultery or have intercourse with a woman during her menstrual period. He is a merciful creditor, not keeping the items given as security by poor debtors. He does not rob the poor but instead gives food to the hungry and provides clothes for the needy. He grants loans without interest, stays away from injustice, is honest and fair when judging others, and faithfully obeys my decrees and regulations. Anyone who does these things is just and will surely live, says the Sovereign Lord.

10 “But suppose that man has a son who grows up to be a robber or murderer and refuses to do what is right. 11 And that son does all the evil things his father would never do—he worships idols on the mountains, commits adultery, 12 oppresses the poor and helpless, steals from debtors by refusing to let them redeem their security, worships idols, commits detestable sins, 13 and lends money at excessive interest. Should such a sinful person live? No! He must die and must take full blame.

God wanted me to share this because there are probably a lot of people who think, because they know OF God and that they were brought up in a Godly manner they will go to heaven.  I don’t think it’s that easy though.  You can see from the above scriptures that you won’t be able to do this as God treats everyone according to their OWN actions.  My friend Joshua Hoffman blogged about something similar a few days ago (you can read his blog by clicking here) where he also mentioned that people claim they are Christians but have only read the Bible once or twice and some even never.  So that shows that they grew up in Christian homes,  but does not mean they are saved…  How can you be saved if you do not know what to do as a Christian?  To know what to do and how to live, one needs to study the Bible, go to Church and mingle with fellow Born again Christians.  Christianity can be explained like this: You start as a baby, and you need to drink milk in the beginning in order to strengthen your immune system, bones etc.  Without the proper amount of milk, you wont grow up being strong and healthy…  The same with the Bible and Christianity, If you don’t read the Bible you wont know what’s right and wrong and you will end up backsliding into darkness.  Another example, will you trust a teenager to drive a car on the highway the first time with no license? No, because there’s a lot of things to concentrate on while driving and with no license there is no proof that he will be able to cope with everything.  The same with Christianity, in order to be able to evade and protect yourself against the dangers of the world you need guidelines/ License and the Bible offers that to you…

Have a blessed evening.  Jesus loves you, no matter what 🙂

Positive or Negative?

July 17, 2012 4 comments

Proverbs 15: 13 and 15 (NKJV)

13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance,
But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil,
But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.

I know, I know…  We get hit with negativity almost everyday, but that’s how satan breaks us down.  Very few people try to see the positive in things, like for example, work, companies keep on introducing new things in order to cut costs and produce products quicker, in order to save money and meet the needs of the customer/consumer.  And then employees would see only the negative and complain about new software they need to learn and working a bit of overtime in the beginning of the changes…  But have they ever thought of the positive things? Like the company tries alternative things to save money as to retrenching their employees, or the overtime shows that they have a company that needs people to work overtime because they are too busy…  and the fact that you can work overtime means you have a JOB, which is scarce these days…
Another example, you plan on spending the weekend camping, but a big storm comes up, and you can’t go because it keeps on raining throughout the weekend. Did you ever think that someone depend on that rain to survive?

I’m sure you can think of other examples that occur in your life…

Try and think more positive from tomorrow.  Start expecting positive things to happen in your life.  This is how we practice our faith in God.  If you have a negative energy around you, everything will end up being negative.  The bible tells us about these things.  Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV) :

20 He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

This is a good example that tells us that we should surround us with good things/people to be good ourselves and not with evil things.

So when something comes up, don’t expect negativity, CLAIM positivity, and the negative things will start fading away…

Have a blessed evening.

In whose hands do you put your trust?

July 10, 2012 Leave a comment

Evening all.

I received a great message today, and I got permission to share it with you.

a Golf club in my hands might not mean anything other than a bogey… but in Tiger Wood’s hands it might mean an eagle.

So it depends in whose hands it is…

a Stick in my hand would enable me to protect myself, a stick in Moses’s hand would enable him to open a path way through the ocean…

Two fishes and five pieces of bread in my hands would end up being a few fish sandwiches, in God’s hands it will feed thousands of people…

a Few nails in my hands would assist in hanging some paintings on the wall, Jesus on the other hand set all of us free and overcame sin…

So you see, it all depends in whose hands a situation is.  So make the right decision and put your life, family, finances, health etc in God’s hands.  He knows what to do and He does it best.

This story is actually so obvious but I never thought of it like that.  This is something we must all practice everyday.

I hope this was as big of a blessing to you as it was for me!

Be Blessed, take the step, Jesus is around the corner waiting for you.

God’s Prophecy Will come to pass

July 9, 2012 Leave a comment

Ezekiel 12:25 For I am the LORD! If I say it, it will happen!

If something does not come immediately, it does not mean it’s not coming… for the above verse tells us that if God has given us a vision or prophecy, it will definately come to pass.  But only when He knows it’s the correct time.

Do not let people fill your heart and mind with disbelief.  You will end missing your blessing.  Always stay positive no matter what happens/gets said.  For the only one you need to listen to and trust in is The Lord our God as He loves you and will never forsake you.

Be blessed family!! Love those around you – its the best offering one can give.
