How strong is your loyalty towards God?

Loyalty

I read an article today regarding loyalty and it made me think about our loyalty towards God.

Can we really say that we are truly loyal to God?

Luke 22 : 34

34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”

Peter did not agree with Jesus, yet he ended up disowning Him three times before the rooster crowed.

This makes me wonder…  Peter was in the presence of Jesus, saw Him doing miracles but still managed to deny Him.  Won’t it be easier for us to deny Him then?  We have never physically met Jesus or see Him do miracles.

It’s easy to say, I love Jesus and I will die for Him, but will we really?  Will you choose Jesus ( Whom you have never even met in person) above your spouse, baby boy (I’m a dad now) or daughter?  Let’s say the government says you need to accept a certain mark on your body in order to trade ( buy groceries etc) and you know that it might be the mark of the beast.  Will you trust in Jesus to provide food for your 6 month old baby or will you accept the mark in order to provide essential nutrients to your growing baby?

I’ve never thought of it in this much detail.. have you?

My loyalty for God is at the top of my list.  And I have the faith to trust in Jesus to provide. His proven it over and over…

Will you?

My timing is perfect

Remember that I am God of justice, says the Lord. As you wait for my intervention in your circumstances, know that I have not forgotten you. Though it seems like I am late, remember Lazarus, how I came to resurrect him four days after he had died. Although it seemed too late in the natural, my timing was perfect, and I am the same yesterday, today and forever! I don’t overlook my children and I don’t turn a blind eye to injustice.

Thank me for my perfect timing today. Thank me for my justice and watch what I am about to do in your life, says the Lord.

God determines The path

Judges 6: 14-16:

14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”
15 “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”
16 The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

 

Do not be afraid:

If you read the above paragraph you will notice that Gideon did not believe in himself.  God instructed him to rescue Israel, but he questioned God’s will, saying that his the weakest man of a weak clan… How often do we question God’s will in our lives?  Always thinking that we are not good enough to achieve something?  Well, I believe that God wouldn’t open a door if it was not meant to be open…  We are His children and He does not want any harm to come to us, only achievements and lessons that end up letting us grow into more mature, stronger Christians.

God then told him that he would not be alone on this journey and that God will make it so easy that it would be as if he fought against one man… Our fears and problems are very small to God, there’s nothing we need to worry about if we trust in God to be with us every step of the way.

Resisting the past

We need to resist the desire to settle in the past.  God wants more for us.  Settling in splendor requires not settling.

With all this said, one needs to stay grateful for what you’ve achieved and what you have, this enables you to look forward and not ponder about the past.  If you have sinned and that’s the reason why you are struggling to more forward and grow with God, know that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for all our sins.  The more people started sinning the more abundant God’s grace became.  You are forgiven for sins committed and sins that are yet to be committed.

Know God’s will:

It’s important to spend time asking God to reveal to you what His will is for your life.  If one knows what God wants to do, it becomes easier to focus on it and notice the progress.  No matter who your are, where you come from, what you have done in your past…God created you for a reason, even if it’s for something very small in our eyes, we need to know that it’s part of a bigger plan that God has for His people…

David and Goliath

This was a sermon at our church last Sunday.  It meant allot to me and I thought that I should share it with others…

Please go read the following thoroughly:

1 Samuel: 17-50

Just like David, we face giants in our lives almost everyday.  And most of the time we try to fight them on our own… just like some warriors would with their sword or javelin…

Sometimes you go around asking for advice from other people and they end up giving you negative advice or discouraging you from going forward… David was told off by his brother Eliab and King Saul, but he was persistent to go forward and conquer the giant in front of him…

You will notice he never got angry or frustrated with them, but carried on motivating why he should do it… This is how we should be, if someone tells you off, you shouldn’t get frustrated or angry with them for they do not always know the reason why God allowed you to get into the situation (Please note that God doesn’t cause the giants, but He allows it as He knows that you will benefit from it), but carry on looking for ways to go forward and conquer your giant.

David did not go out and fight the giant on his own, he went knowing through faith that God will be victorious over the giant, and he proclaimed it to the giant.  We need to proclaim the power of God when we take on the giants in our lives, this gives glory to God and signifies His existence.

Never be afraid or lose faith in God, just always remember, no matter how big the giant may be, God is bigger… Giants always have a weakness, God is perfect and does not have any weaknesses…

David, a young man, with no armour, sword or shield triumphed over Goliath a strong, tall, experienced champion of war with only a sling, stone and faith.  Now that tells you that God will always be there with us, we just need to believe and ask God for assistance.

Your Destiny

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1, 2 NIV)

How often do we get caught up in the darkness and negative things of this world we live in?  Too often if you ask me… The devil likes to clog our minds with negative thoughts and habits.  An alcoholic who keeps on drinking to get drunk or a thief that keeps on stealing even when they know what they are doing is wrong, because satan clogged their minds making them think that they are only good enough for their habits they have… but I have some great news for you!!

When currency like a $100 dollar note gets printed it starts a very long journey where it may be sent to a bank, then a person withdraws it, spends it on groceries, it then belongs to the grocery store, from there it might be transferred to an alcoholic then to a drug dealer, then it might even end up in a church as an offering… who knows…  But at the end of the day (not considering the economy etc that may depreciate the value of a $100 note) that note is still worth $100 dollars…

When Jesus creates you, you never lose you’re true value.  No matter where you end up in life, always remember that Jesus created you for a reason and that you will do great things in His name!  Every step we take or stage in our lives we go through is the path God wants us to take so that we may grow into the person He needs us to be!

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. (Psalm 119:105 NIV)

We just need to ask God to clear our minds from the dark cloud by walking in His light, so that we can see the way forward that He has laid down for us.

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. (Proverbs 16:6 NIV)

Importance of Love

Dear believers in Christ,

Do you remember the young believer in you?  The day and few months after you gave your heart to God, through Jesus?  You had an immense love for Christ, didn’t you? (Maybe you still have it, that’s awesome, but there’s allot that has forgotten about it)

If you’re feeling empty, but that you’re trying hard to fill the emptiness by doing more FOR God then read the below.  I realized this in my own life and it’s so true.

First lets read a few verses from The Bible:

Revelation 2

New Living Translation (NLT)

The Message to the Church in Ephesus

1“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Ephesus. This is the message from the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven gold lampstands:

“I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting.

“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches. But this is in your favor: You hate the evil deeds of the Nicolaitans, just as I do.

“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God.

In the 7 verses above, I learned that, even though we are doing the works on earth FOR God, we have forgotten about doing things WITH God.  It’s more important for God to have a relationship with us than us doing things on earth FOR Him.  Don’t get me wrong, He needs us on earth to do His will.  But It’s more important for Him to have us close to Him.

And that’s what I have noticed, in the beginning of our “new lives” in Christ, we love and adore Him, but after a while we get caught up in the works FOR God.  And we start spending less time with God.

Take this parable as an example :

a Man gets a lady to fall in love with him, in order to let her fall in love with him, he spends time with her, buys her things, looks after her, respects her and shows her love.  They get married and he now starts working in order to keep on impressing his wife by supporting her financially… He becomes so focused on making more and more money to “look after” his wife that he starts neglecting the relationship between them, they end up getting a divorce because the love they had disappeared  due to negligence and focus on other things.

I believe you get my point? We still love God, but we are so focused on doing the right thing for Him on earth in order to earn our way into heaven ( I know that’s not the case) rather than just knowing we HAVE a place in heaven through our relationship with Jesus Christ who died on the cross for us!

Matthew 6:33

New Living Translation (NLT)

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

Above verse says clearly, seek God first and then all else will be given to you.

The word SEEK means:

“to search for something/someone” : try to find a person, thing, or place.

“head towards something”: to go to or towards a place or thing.

So should we not always seek God first and then do the rest?  In order to love someone, you need to spend time with them and have a relationship with them.  This is true in our personal lives with friends and spouses, isn’t it? So obviously it’s the same with our relationship with God…

Love is the most important thing for God. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins… Love must definitely mean something to God…

Love Is the Greatest

13 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

The above verse proves what I’ve been talking about.  We can do all the works on earth for God.  But if you do not have love it’s all meaningless…

Always work on your relationship with Christ and all else will come to you…

Anxiety and worries? Why?

Matthew 6:26

New Living Translation (NLT)

26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are?

There is so much worry and anxiety out there in the world.  And I thought that I would share the above verse with you all that I got from God today.  Is this not true?  If He provides food to the birds, animals and plants on earth, would He not provide us with our needs?  He created earth and everything on it for US.  So He will definitely look out for us as well.  In our busy lives that we live in today it’s hard not to have anxiety or worries because we are pressured by something or someone around every corner, but we need to keep the above verse in our minds and remember that God will not put you into something that He will not take you through.  There is an unexplainable reason for everything that happens and we only find out what the reason for these things are when we are supposed to. (And it’s always after it has happened) But in the end we understand why certain things happened the way they did and end up being happier or better off…

 

So, remember that you are more important to God than the plants and the creatures and yet He looks after them as well.
